4/30/2023 0 Comments Review pixelmator for mac![]() ![]() My two favorites are the mini image map that shows you what part of a photo you’ve zoomed into and lets you move the zoomed area around by dragging the box inside the Navigator. ![]() The pinch to zoom gesture works as before, but clicking on the magnifying glass in the sidebar reveals additional options. Zoom has also been significantly enhanced in Pixelmator’s main Mac app. The latest Pixelmator Pro update adds new zoom tools to the sidebar. The extension is so complete that when viewed side-by-side, it’s hard to tell which app you’re in other than by looking at the app’s title bar. When you click Edit from inside Photos, all you need to do is click the three-dot button in the toolbar, select Pixelmator Pro, and your image is opened in Pixelmator Pro’s familiar editing environment. Pixelmator has incorporated every editing tool available in its main app into its extension, including all of the machine learning auto-enhance adjustments that are made possible thanks to Core ML. Few of the photo editing apps I’ve used work with Photos though, which is a shame because Pixelmator Pro shows how much can be done with a Photos extension. Photos extensions allow third-party developers to integrate their apps with Photos. That’s no longer necessary because Pixelmator Pro has been updated with a Photos extension that lets you use all of the app’s tools directly within Photos. Pixelmator Pro is one of my favorite image editors on the Mac, but until today, I typically edited images in it that I pulled from an SD card or exported from Photos. Pixelmator Pro released a significant update today that integrates the Mac app with Apple’s Photos app using a full-featured extension, adds enhanced zoom functionality, new cropping options, and more. ![]()
